Singapore Expats

Hello, I am an exchange student who would like to get out camping with some of my friends. I have heard that you can camp in the East Coast Park. However none of us have camping gear, so I was just wondering if Singapore has any military/army surplus stores where you can buy gear like tents?

There is a hawker Center opposite Golden Mile Complex. They sell lots of army stuffs above the hawker center, many army boys buy their gadgets there.
