Removal of old furniture etc - anyone know who to call?

Hi, I finally talked my landlord into letting me get rid of some of the older furnishings in our condo.

Unfortunately I had to agree to get rid of them myself and then 'replace' them when I leave.

None of this is an issue, but I am not sure who I could call.

Has anyone got a contact or number for someone who buys/ takes away unwanted furniture?

I am happy to donate it to charity if needs be, so all suggestions welcome.

I know advertising is not allowed on this forum but if the contact numbers could be included in the answer that would be really useful for me.

:D

We donated an old sofa bed to the red cross, I don't have the direct number but try 63360269, Just be aware that they don't take really old and worn down things.

I do hope that you have the agreement in writing from the landlord, and the replacement type etc agreed upon as well.

I'm not saying it will happen to you, you may have a lovely honest landlord, but knowing others who have done the same this is just a warning. Sometimes it is easier to put up with what is there than get involved in disputes later.

If you do it, please make sure you take photos of what you get rid of and the condition it was in just as a precaution. Always better safe than sorry.

Yeah you will never go wrong with black and white. Always a good precautionary measure!

just in case you do need someone - i have used a man named nigel 92709182 when i've purchased stuff (on this site) and needed it transported. he also did some removal of furniture when we moved out of our last place and salvation army wouldn't take it. it was $50 flat fee. there are a couple 'teams' of guys - so it's not actually nigel - i think it's just a small moving outfit.
