Singapore Expats

Dear All,
My girl friend is a selfe-study student, majoy in English with 4 years collage degree.I am resident in Dalian, China. take seriously interest in Merchandiser position especially in Singapore. and I have some knowledge in iron and steel industuy.such as flanges, valves, adaptors and so on. My last job is as assistant of assistant managers who are in Germany and U.S.A, My duty is controul the procedures of importment by Tel,Fax.MSN and E-Mail.and deal with B/L, Invoice and packing list which support from overseas.
The company have not did the bussiness, so I have to find a new job.
My personality is outgoing and easygoing. I like Challenges and i could do the work with Minimum Supervision。I am able to perform independently. The most important is I am interest in continumous learning .I am also with little knowledge of Japanese. I do not mind traveling especially overseas.I am perficency in Ms-office and Mandarin and English.
It is great honour for me to work in company!

Yahoo is the search engine.....It is very difficult for you to seek work in Singapore, although their seems to be many mainland Chinese here, they are not very well paid, it is very risky to come to Singapore, many agents will just trick you, by promising you good pay.

I have read in the local paper of two women, who arrived and was expected to work in prostitution, when they had been promised good jobs.

You have a much better chance of making a living in China, although you need to think about what you want to do.

Thank u for u good advice. I am hard work with diploma. I only want to find a work that supply visa sponership with S$1.8K salary.That will be fine.

Even the local singaporean is not paid that much, the rates here are from 1000, to 1500$ and locals get priority, diploma doesn't help much at all i'm afraid...sorry I don't know what to suggest! What would you earn in China? 800$ a month!

Problem is that all mainland Chinese believe, they are moving into wealth, little do they know, wealth has a price, to pay, if you couldn't earn your keep, plus profit for your employer, what use are you.

Again, i would use your brains, to make a living where you are, you know, the culture, and the area, so its much easier to make the 1800$ you want.

I've heard its happening here too, and that Singaporeans just don't want to work for 1600$, no offence to anyone, although i just don't understand this mentality at all...

You should understand more than most. You, like myself have an Asian wife and even moreso in your case as your wife is oriental as well. You know the concept about menial labour, face, working out in the sun or for that matter any job that will not let them grown a long, long, little pinky fingernail!

There! That ought to be fodder enough to elicit at least a half a page of prose!
