Air STEWARD tips

Does anyone have any tips on how to pass the interview stages for Singapore Airlines?
I've read many threads about what air stewardESSES should do to perform well in the interview but I have some burning questions as a male as well
1) Do you have to be superbly dashing?
2) Are you put through the same interviews as the air stewardesses? AFAIK, the aspiring female flight attendants have to go through a kebaya test, is that right? Obviously, males would look like prats wearing kebayas - do they go through a tuxedo test?
3) Are foreign languages a plus? For me, I have a DELF B1 degree in French. DELF stands for Diplôme d'études en langue française which essentially is the standard French proficiency test, accepted in lieu of linguistic entrance exams around the world.
4) Do you have to be really tall? For me I just reach SQ's height requirements - which is a measly 165cm

surchoix, although im applying for fss, but i think i can answer some of ur questions...
1) u dun have to be superbly dashing as long as u r confident while giving ur speech n do smile a lot...
2)this questions sounds funny...if u ask do they have to wear the steward uniform,its ok...but regarding this tuxedo...wht do u think?
its a no my dear...tuxedo is nt their steward uniform
3)it is an added advantage for u..u have to tell them that u know french..
4)since u r 165cm (min height),y dun u juz go n try?as long as u meet the min requirement,im sure they wont kick u out..

1) Do you have to be superbly dashing?
I think most guys will be dress in formal attire and tie. Think you should consider as well. As long u look presentable and friendly, if ur dashing, it will be a PLUS for you.
2) Are you put through the same interviews as the air stewardesses? AFAIK, the aspiring female flight attendants have to go through a kebaya test, is that right? Obviously, males would look like prats wearing kebayas - do they go through a tuxedo test?
All the stages for guys and girls are the same (BUT GUYS AND GALS ARE SEPARATED INTO DIFFERENT GRPS) except for Round 2 where successful female candidates will need to put on kebaya, while male candidates will just need to "cat-walk" to and fro for the interviewer to see.

Since have know how to speak french, maybe you can do a self-intro of ur name and how old u are in French?? Maybe it might be more interesting??

If u meet the minimun height requirement, then it shouldnt be a problem. Just REMEMBER to stand UPRIGHT and STRAIGHT as much as possible while the staffs are measuring your height.

Yes. Look into the back of a spoon. If you think are reaaaallly really good looking, welcome aboard!

Yes. When I did mine, I walked into the room letting the interviewers see my side profile. I stopped, turned around and said, My name is bond. James bond.

Thats good enough. As long as you can touch the aircraft ceiling on your tippy toes.

Here are some of the questions I have for now, hope someone can give me really good replies!
go SQ website to see the basic requirement, as long as u meet them and u look presentable then juz go for it. No harm gg for the recruitment, anyway it's all abt luck as to gettin in, for all u know u may juz breeze thru the interview

usu 1st rd they juz ask u to give a brief intro of urself, but sometimes they may ask diff ques too like why u think National Svc is impt. I think impt is use proper english and proper sentences. U can search the forum for more tips. I heard got 4 rds but I'm not sure wad r the 4 rds also.

round 2 - short walking, checking on your facial complexion
round 3 - normal HR 1-to-1 interview (why you wanna to be in SQ and why they should choose you)
round 4 - management round (2 vs you) just a simple chat, on your family, lifestyle...etc and almost the same question as your round 3.

yup i went in mar and no luck, now no more of the swimming rd, where u need to swim wif the life jacket? wah guys also need to have facial complexion and cat walk oh man....

its just a simple walk....then they will require you to stand under a spot like, they will check for your skin, your teeths....some will check on your fingers as well...but it normally took less than 2 min thingy... the most easily of 4 rounds....

thanx smurfieee, like to ask u also so rd 1 & 2 is on the actual walk-in interview that day rite and subsequent rd 3 & 4 are on another day rite?
anyway hope u get the job soon!

nah...actually it can be done within the same walk-in day....depending on the amount of applicant and what time you went... but...i personally think, the trend nowadays there are lesser guy applying...so hence the shorter waiting time.... i got a friend whom went in dec intake he reached there like 10+ but still unable to finish the whole thingy....i went on mar...almost 1pm...yet cleared everything....
