I need help, i've been searching everywhere for answer, maybe this forum can help me out. I need tonz of advice that u all can give me to help me migrate out of this country as soon as possible.

Reason: i dont want to rot or live my whole life in this small boredom/ tourism spot country and keep on getting caLL up for my stupid reservist till i'm 40. (i'm not againts Ns, i mean itz good discipline but reservist till we're 40? c'mon... i hate the feeling that government own our asses)

i heard if u married someone from other country then u can migrate. is it true? or is that only implement for women and not for the guys?

The grass is not greener on the other side, although it's cooler, and not as boring Reserve is normal, after i did my stint of a 22 year contract, I still had to transfer to the reserve....Although I never ever answered any of their letters....When i finally sent for my data, it said, habitual non conformists, it made me so happy, that after all those years, they finally understood who i was. Yet they couldn't fault my service record of exemplary

If I had my young life over again, there is a few things, i would change....

1. I would learn to moderate my drinking
2. I would study, all that interests me..(which I do anyway)
3. I would aim high, when it comes to marriage (target your woman) make sure she's wealthy or better off than yourself, that way, when the divorce comes, through, you land easier.
4. Enjoy your life and make babies everywhere you go, to keep the blood line running.
5. Learn to control your emotions and ego, there are millions worse off than yourself.
6. Go for it, and stop talking about it, just do it, marry 10 times if it gets you to where you want to be, after all, it's only paper.
7. Keep smiling, life is a cabaret old chum!

Marry a European is getting more difficult these days, even myself having a foreign wife, has difficulty to get into my own Country, with my wife and daughter, so we gave up and came here. But normally the procedure is that you must apply after marriage, it takes around 3 month process..although you qualify for UK Citizenship after 3 years of living in UK.

That's true! Although it's UK's weakness...and quite easy to get, if you are a good liar, literally brought UK to its knees, financially! I've been absolutely disgusted with the Country since the early 70's

The politicians have always shit on their own people and rape the country blind financially of tax payers money, no matter which party you choose, they all piss in the same pot....it's only now, they are being forced to be transparent on their perks claims.....and I'll bet everyone will be shocked to know, they get everything paid, from freezers, TV's, second homes, and god knows what else, at tax payers expense....and they still fiddle, the milage claims and expenses.

Go back to studies and update your skils. Certain professions can emigrate much much easier than others based on what skill shortages the country you are going to is facing.

Another option is to get sponsored by a relative. Eg, if you have someone you know in Australia for instance, there is an option available to reunite famiies and sponsor them to stay in Australia. The requirements are quite strict, though and they have to prove they can support you for 2 years, I believe.

Spouse visa application (as you enquired about) is also an option. Perhaps go on a holiday overseas and cross your fingers you meet the love of your life. Again the process is quite strict, and can take 2 years (for Australia). By the way, "de-facto" relationships also count (ie not married), as long as they're not same sex.

Marrying is very easy, just get your paperwork done and get married. Finding a spouse might me more tricky of course. As a spouse (sex doesn't matter) of a any normal EU country you have right to live and work in any EU country, can be different from where your spouse lives or is from. There is a EU court decission about this.

UK is a bit of a weirdo in this club, because they have all kinds of small exceptions, but still the same basic rules apply. Civil Servants might bully you a bit, and ask all kinds of useless forms and papers to be legalised etc, but still in the end they cannot stop you. It will never work as smoothly as in Singapore, for example 3-6 months is considered a normal processing time, even for another EU citizen to get a local ID cardor residence permit in many EU countries.

Singapore passport on the other hand let's you stay in EU 90 days if I remember correctly. It is more inconvenient if you from a country where you require a visa to get into EU.

Of course the real trouble for OP is to get a job or have enough money to support himself for the first 6 months to start with. I guess best to find a rich wife.

Not so for Australia; they're pretty forward-thinking when it comes to same sex couples.

However they're not stupid and I'm sure most marriages of convenience are rumbled.

do your research to find out skills shortages in countries. i know someone (office worker i think) , from the UK who retrained as a hairdresser in order to immigrate to australia. I'm not sure if hairdressers are still considered skill that australia is short of, but this was certainly in the last 10 years or so.

Sorry wasn't clear enough, with the time frame I was referring EU countries in general. There may be big differences in civil service effectiveness and effieciency between countries, even in cases where they have no choice for rejecting an application.

the speed of the UK system depends greatly on your country of origin. My husband and i had no problems whatsoever. very quick. my good mate from Syria has been 'in process' for well over a year now.

Que ?? This is news to me ? Gonna look this one up. Can't imagine the Oz government giving the green light to same sex marriages...the people don't want it...unless the new labour government has a different view?
Feel sorry for the OP. Splatted's ideas of further studies seems a good one. Oz wants trained people in specific fields, not necessarily highly qualified but skilled labour like bakers are required always.
