Singapore Expats

My wife and I will move from Beijing to Singapore in this May. We have a coker-poo going with us. now I'm studying the transfer procedure which the goverment set upon. Is there anyone who has brought dog from Beijing before can share experience with me?

Moved a dog from Shanghai to SG last September, if that's any help.

Suggest checking with the airline for the appropriate government approved vet clinic in BJ to provide the health and export certificate.
(Note: There was only one approved in SH).

If the dog does not have a current rabies shot (again from a government approved vet clinic) get this at least 30 days before travel.
The dog will also need to get parasite treatment within 2 weeks of travel.

Make sure you have an import permit and an approved slot at the quarantine station here in SG.

I'll echo what kaseyma said. Checking with the airline is a good first step.

I've exported pets from China before (though not directly to SG). A lot of airlines operating in China don't handle pets, so it's a good idea to find out who does first. Finding a reputable logistics company will certainly smooth the whole process. Otherwise you might find yourself doing a lot of running around during your last week in Beijing.

just back from SG for a look-see trip.booked a quarantine space for my dog,$926 for one month.Implanted microchip , some paper work on the way....,still something worry me,hope everything go smoothly.

The staff at the quarantine station are very good.
Always found them very attentive and helpful.

yes, just got her released last week. I went to see her almost everyday. the staffs there are quite friendly and I just realised the facilities are well beyond others so called pet hotels when I tried to locate a possible boarding service for the future.

Unfortunately no.
Only time we used a pet hotel was about 9 years ago, up in Pasir Ris.
Paid for aircon, but when my wife went in upon our return she found that the dog was kept in a regular kennel without aircon.

Just came back last year (few years in China).
Nowadays, we leave the dog with friends when we travel.
