Singapore Expats

Hi guys as the title is showing i have decided to start a new life in Singapore i have done an intensive search on almost everythg. Now the plan is to be executed by year end. keep in mind i have been in Singapore on 2004, am very used to the culture and tradition as i have been for 4 years in Malaysia. I am planing a trip this august if things goes fine . For now am working in Dubai, but lack of mind relaxation is a huge matter here.
I am in the IT line holding B.Sc Hons, CCNA+MCSE(soon), speak 6 langs. 3 official languages (english,french,arabic) and 3 other (one of them is mandarin about 30%)

My question and concern is that how fast can i secure a job before i run out of cash and whithin a certain time frame (30 days), I'll do a job hunt too in August but thats for like 10 days so the bigger is in Year End.

whenever i think about it i go stressed

Also advice me on mandarin classes !

any tips/advice/suggestion will be highly appreciated

Hi its me again. Well you can try to check online on some of the companies or maybe some recommedation from someone so that when u are here in Aug can have interviews with some of the companys here.

After trying to understand your 1st paragragh, I'm guessing you are basing your desire to move to Singapore on what you've looked up on the net and a short visit 4 years ago?

Most expats either come to Singapore due to a job posting or following/joining family.

I would think your chances of finding a job within the IT industry, even if you were in Singapore for 10 days, would be slim. There is already a saturation of local IT bods looking for jobs within the IT sector.

My main visit this Aug. will be tourism and checkoing out and surveyin the market too, i have been there to 8 countries - a good experience and have seen a lot and many places not such country can be compared to Singapore and well thats my own view other can have theirs ! that's up to them.

Eventhough the IT its saturated i can work out other fields I have other experience in other fields too so am polyvalent somehow ! But still i would prefer IT. the year end 's job hunt will be a long and good one so this coming 10 days is to visit more countries around and drop CVs along the way in SG if anythings popup that is am in am staying.

Don't want to sound rude but I would get an English speaker to check your CV before sending it to companies in Singapore if going by your last posting. Singlish is easier to understand!

The IT envrionment of Singapore is not good.Compare to the other country,the market is smaller,the cost is higher. There are a lot of guys holding VP or SVP finding for jobs everyday,but 90% of them can't make it when the visa expired.Even for PR,a good IT job is not easy to find

heheheh are you out of secondary school yet? I ask because your level of English leave a bit to be desired. You do not go "finding" for something. You go "Looking" for something.

Wow guys i got my ass wiped .. loool well, to me speaking english in a wokring environemnt is to the needed level accent pretty good too i don't do spelling mistakes.. well jsut one thing u guys need to keep in mind i started learning english since 2004 only so that explains sometimes in forums i do typo errors or some othersm istake because of hell time am in. times runs too fast n everytime i post smthg i never read back i jsut write+post.
I am french educated which menas if u guys been to a kinden garten(can't check the spelling now) and attend every things in english we me i have been throw the same except that it was 10000% in FRENCH so please give me a break.

i will definitly take my cv to ppl who speak good enlgish to rectify if there is any errors . for now i need to now my chances to land a job thats all

OP will probably give the average Singaporean clerk a run for their money in the Business English department! To me they are a waste of air and groceries as I have to proofread everything before it leaves the office. I may as well do it my self. I can already type faster then 80% of them anyway.

je suis aussi interessé par singapour, and like you i m talking some languages come le lnLgish, oops Enlgish? ah sing ppl angry ? ennnnklish? ahhh j voulais dire l anglais ! nan ne nous agressez pas messieurs!
c est trop facile, je voudrais bien voir vos tetes en lisant ce texte.
1francais, 2enklich, enlgish ? hehe 3 serbian-croatian , 4 thai nid noi 5 espanol poco lo mas o menos ... et desire apprendre encore une langue asiat.
sinon j voudrais bien connaitre un peu plus ton parcours sur ton envie de t installer a singapour
j ai deja visité le pays y a pas longtemps c est bien sympa
en esperant avoir de tes nouvelles

Well shwoing off or not at least making some typo errors isn't tthe end of the world! that's so means but anyways its part of the forum.

Salut christy chuis kim en fait c'est singapour est une place super sympa et j'ai vraiment envie d'allait faire une vie la bas. Mon intention c'est de me trouver un boulot plus ou moins dison quelconque au debut puis je bougerai tout doucement vers l'informatique, et si je peux trouve un boulot en informatique des le debvut sa sera genial et minimimsera les bleme!

Je parle deja le mandarin a 30% disons donc je garde les langues avance ainsi que mon experience, donc ils passent en parallele tout les deux tu vois non. moi chuis un mec et g 24 ans et toi ? t francaise ?
