any suggestions on in-car navigation systems best for Sing?

Can anyone suggest / share their experience with brands of in-car navigation systems here in Singapore?
I have recently moved here from Australia and TomTom and Navman seem to be the most popular there....not even sure how best to start here in order to get the best coverage (and then still be able to take it back to AU - or anywhere else, for that matter).
Thoughts anyone?

a good resource on GPS in Singapore and Malaysia would be

where you can get advice and download free maps of Singapore and Malaysia.
The Garmin Nuvi series of GPS is quite extensive and you should be able to find one with the features you need. I believe Garmin is the only brand that is compatible with the Malsing maps.
Alternatively, you can get a Garmin GPS set with a preloaded map of Australia which you pay extra but it works out to be cheaper than if you buy the set and maps seperately. The free Malsing map loads onto a removable SD card which you slot into the GPS. This way you can use the GPS when you move back to Oz.

It would be quite a challenge to see GPS work in Singapore as there are too many high rise building around. Most GPS don't work well if it is in CBD, same here in AUstralia.

It's too bad that you don't know what you are talking about. GPS is in regular use in taxis and buses.
