Just a word of caution to our new Expats and those who may not be aware that only Singaporeans and PRs are allowed to work as part-time maids or house cleaners.

One of my friends has just contacted someone who post on this Classifieds & Forum under yhanie_17 and spoke to a lady called Lei.

When asked if her maids are legal, she replied they are either long-term or work permit pass holders. When told that it is illegal to do so, she replied "it's up to you"!

I am assuming you are working in an agency or you are the one who exactly called me. To tell you, I am the one doing the part time and I am a PR so no need to do any precautions as I can work legally.

All Singaporeans now knows about hiring part time maid who are not supposed to do any part time and they know the risk...they are taking the risk because they don't want the local to do the cleaning for them because its not up to their expectation.



So then I was correct in my assumption before. You were soliciting on the forum. For this and for giving out deliberately false or misleading or illegal information you have earned the dubious distinction of my having the pleasure of locking your account.

Moderators allowing expats to stigmatise part time maids and locking part time maids in replying, saying they are solliciting.

How low can they go, the mods that is.

About as low as posters who criticize what mods are doing when they themselves are not reading regularly so don't know that previous posts were deleted for solicitation on several occasions.

think again: I am not the only one here not reading on an hourly basis like yourself, which means many others like me would be baffled with the result of your hunger for rules and regulations.

I can't read what is gone, but only what you made of it and that surely reads ugly.

Hey SG, you've been here for donkey's years already. You know the rules here about soliciting business in the forums.

I second the motion...you could have warn the user by sending an email.

i am just new here reading all the postings mr. moderator. just a reminder to you that although you are the mod here, you don't have the rights to always give other meaning on what we are posting here.

i dont recall anything that I said wrong here, just giving my free insight which I know I say freely hence, you give a meaning on what I have post.

MOM requires that the maid you get from the agency, with a proper work permit only work in the address that is stated in the document.

If your maid moonlight, or work in another address, like your mother-in-law etc etc, all parties will be penalised heavyly if caught, including a jail terms. This has happened many times and it will happen again.

Lastly, screen your maid carefully. I just came across one who use her boss's infant baby to beg in the street. She claimed that she has no money to feed her baby.
