Hi,

Need some information regarding budget airlines in Europe. I've heard of Easy Jet and Ryan Air, how good are they? Which one is better? Any other good budget airlines to travel across western europe?? Thanks in advance!

if all goes well, then they are OK. if there's any problem even if it is not your fault, you are left on your own! you pay for what you get.

Personally I prefer Ryanair to Easyjet.

Just be careful when you book as I think all flights are non-refundable unless you have insurance which will cover you in case of a family emergency and stuff.

I think Ryanair have been advertising their prices excluding all taxes and airport fees to which is illegal in the UK so double check on how much it really is costing.

Totally agree with durain on the no help. If something goes wrong turn to a wall and talk to it because it'll actually give you better help than either of thos 2 companies.

They are cheap and cheerful, they get you from A to nearly B!

The thing to be aware of is that these airlines don't fly into the city's main airport but some regional one miles outside of the city.

I once flew Ryanair from London, Stanstead to Copenhagen Denmark. which actually landed in Malmo in Sweden!!

I would tend to agree with ukdesigner, Ryanair is better than Easyjet, but I guess you get what you pay for. I once got stuck for 2 1/2 days in Madrid because Luton was snowbound. If I had travelled via a non-budget airline I would've been able to get into Heathrow or Stansted.

Was also never too keen on the "first-on-the-plane-gets-the-best-seat" policy. They almost need a whistle when they open the terminal door to board the plane. GO!!

I have never used Ryanair, but have used Easyjet a lot and they are very very good. Of course you don't get anything on board, or if you do you pay for it, but this is why they are a budget airline. They are very efficient and always on time.
This is my experience anyway. I have booked my flights in summer to go with them London Malaga London with all the family .

It is very easy to book on line too.

For conditions, check http://www.easyjet.com and http://www.ryanair.com as conditions can change, and promos goes day by day so anything you can find there will be more accurate than anything that anybody can tell you based on his/her previous experience.

also will depend on where you want to go in Europe with them, cause the airport to land is sometimes far away from your actual choosen destination... and to discover the city nearby.

Check the conditions. Ryanair is charging for Airport check in and also luggage in the hold. Don't buy any priority boarding, just a waste of money. Also check www.flybe.com and many more local airlines depending of the country you want to fly to.
Check also City airport. Good connections and easy access with the Docklands light railway straight Bank to the Airport .

in my experience easyjet flies to proper airports whereas with ryan air you can end up in the middle of nowhere.

Also, some of the bigger carriers sometimes have good offers, e.g. Lufthansa is selling 99 euro tickets for European destination (from Germany).
