Hi all, I will be moving into my new home soon and am looking for a Pundit to do mantars before I shift in..

can anyone tell me if you have any idea where I can find a Pundit in Singapore..seems like mostly south indian temples here in SG..

I don't know lah... I guess evenings would be an okay time to drop by as there would be people coming by after work etc...? (Not much of a temple person myself.)

Last year when we moved into our new house, we decided to do the mantra-jap ourselves. A few of us got together and recited Gayatri Mantra, Hanuman Chalisa etc. with a small havan in a portable kund. The vibrations created were excellent.

These pundits are becoming a greedy lot - the last I booked a pundit through the Laxminarayan temple for Satyanarayan Katha, I was asked to pay some S$48 as booking fee to the temple, taxi fare for the pundit and daxina . As if that was not enough, he insited on each person placing S$10 on the aarti thal.

i did my gruhpravesh puja from a south indian temple priest bcoz the laxmi narayan temple priests were too fussy, pricey and too busy, the south indian temple priest did a much better and detailed puja which was beautiful, the way he had decorated the puja sthan, havan, kalash was something like i had never seen done b4 by any pandit and he chanted the same mantras n prayers were conducted on time and for a good 1 and half hrs unlike the rushed hash job done by the other pandits....it does not matter if the priest is from south indian or north indian temple the prayers have the same meaning its just that it has to be done with patience and meaning. The priest charged a fix rate that was paid to the temple for which we received a receipt and the dakshana was left to us. he did not even ask. even the items required for the puja were printed on a list for me which i was told to hand over to the shop and they would put it all together. there were no added costs over the price that i was quoted. i found it to be surprisingly professional and well organised. i did have to drop and pick up the priest but that was fine, i wasnot asked to pay for any transportation charges.

Tangy74, could you please tell me which temple you contacted? We also need to do this puja next month before we move in to our new home. Thanks a lot!

hi the temple is in punggol ....i forget the name but its the only indian temple in punggol near rivervale mall.
