Singapore Expats

Dh is going to sort out accomodation next week (I am praying for a spacious 4 bed condo ) and he has been advised by the relocation advisor to consider Siglap. I would really like to know what you think of the area ( we have 3 children aged 7, 2.5 and 2.5) and what the commute is like to the French school in Ang Mo Kio by car.

Siglap is a good area to stay, lots of eateries and other facilities, and its close to ECP Park & Expressway, but do bear in mind that it is quite conjested in terms of traffic, cause most of Singaporeans (or atleast the wealthy ones) prefer to stay there.
To get to French school , you'll have to use PIExpressway so its possible,
but do check out the place before you agree to stay there

Actually, it's just as easy to run down via Marine Parade or East Coast Road and make a right turn onto Still Road / Jln Eunos / Hougang Ave 3 / Hougang Ave 2 / Ang Mo Kio Ave 3 and you are there. It's a straight shot from Still Road to AMK Ave 3 where the French School is located (no turns). (I actually live within walking distance of the French School). Of course the PIE may be faster but once on the CTE it is a pain in the butt in the mornings.

mmmm, really don't want to be stuck in traffic in the morning. Getting the children to school by 8.15 would be a miracle in the best of conditions.
SMS, how is the Ang Mo Kio area? Any recommendations?

Siglap is a nice area and close to the beach,but commute to the French School is not ideal.

You should be able to get good condo around Lorong Chuan area. There are a few newly completed condos.

Ang Mo Kio is very much a local estate. It's mostly government housing. If your budget allow landed, serangoon garden is very near to the French school with a sizeable expats communities and eateries.

Hey you are taking the bread and butter away from this forum, no advertising on the forum and besides, your place isn't a 4 bedroom spacious condo..classifieds is free, now shoo!

I guess many were shocked and taken back by your spamming and multiple listing of your property without first understanding the culture and restriction of the forum.

Sure, there is no ill intention in spamming and multiple listing. It's just like throwing garbage at passer by and said "sorry,I didn't know you don't need my garbage...I have no ill intention at all"
