THanks

ha ha no-one would think you were racist for asking the question! lots of us have been a bit nervous about finding a new hairdresser. and i know at least one person who had the hair equivalent of the texas chainsaw massacre when she had her first singapore colour done!

I go to Tony & Guy at Hareen Shopping Centre on Orchard. Chaya does my colour. I've had a couple of people do my cut - though my style is pretty simple. Texas chainsaw massacre girl goes there too. :D

I see Chaya at Toni & Guy for color as well. She's brilliant - got me back to my "natural" blonde 8-) (I go to Quester for cuts - but there are lots of good stylists there.)

New here but not to the Far East, had my first hair "hatchet" job in Bangkok 10yrs ago, I have the thick curly/frizzy hair that just loves these humid conditions

Quick question about the Toni and Guy stylist, does he straighten the hair before cutting? My wonderful UK stylist worked this way and always gave an amazing cut.

I have long straight hair so cant comment on how he would cut curly hair but my friend with corkscrew curls was a very happy client of his, maybe worth giving them a quick call or going in for a consultation with David and then see what you think? He definitely understands how our hair reacts to humidity and is very particular over the styles that he cuts. :-)

So David is actually British? I've had way too many disasters here in Singapore and still haven't found anyone I've been completely happy with after living here for 7 years. Can I ask how much he charges for a hair cut? Anyone get it highlighted as well here and how much does that cost?

Thanks

Hi , yes he is 100% british and I use Chaya there and shes brilliant! It depends on hair length i think and with the colour, how many colours she puts in and hair length again. David is not the cheapest boy in town but so far I have found after 2 years here that paying a little extra for something you are happy with is definitely worth it! Maybe worth giving them a call and explain hair type and they will tell you rough prices. It the T&G at the heeren if you do call them!

Well, i had my hair done by David at T&G and am very happy with the result and found him very helpful, giving advice on how to control the 'frizz' etc. I definately recommend him :D

thanks Gypsy Queen, he's a great stylist and no sales pressure to buy products or to make an appointment for 6/8 weeks he just said "you'll know when your ready to come in again". He didn't even ask where I'd been on holiday :D

Gypsy Queen...thanks for your recommendation. I desperately need a good hairdresser that can help me tame my frizzies and I think I’ll give David a go…
