My company is going to shift head quarters into SG. I was wondering how long does it take to get the employment pass, what are the criterias and i was wondering if anyone who had acquired an EP could spear some time to talk to lil o'l me ^_^" just so i can get a better understanding of the system

It's common (and recommended) to get an approval-in-principle (AIP) before arrival, so you can basically start working from day 1 and then just go to collect your EP when it's ready a week or two later. Although sometimes it can take much longer, depending on the phase of the moon or whatever.

It's bureaucracy, there are no guarantees, even in oh-so-efficient Singapore. Live with it.

I applied before I got here, a couple of weeks, but it seems like either the MoM or my company didn't do anything with it. Anyway, they chased up the application and got a provisional letter or whatever it's called and then once I had (re-done) the medical etc. it was just a case of sitting in the MoM's (Ministry of Manpower - sounds like something off) big room. I got number 350 or so. The counter was on 100 or so. Loooooong wait. 5 hours later I had submitted my passport, the letter of intent (or whatever) and my medical report. 3 or 4 hours after that, I came in again (less waiting, different number system) and picked it all up.

Maybe it was my company did a lot behing the scenes, but it was all very painless (except for the waiting) for me.
