Singapore Expats

Hey All,

The Opening Ceremony of the Beijing Olympics is this Friday, 08/08/08 at 20:08:08. I've followed the preparation for the games pretty avidly, and am looking forward to watching what promises to be a prodigal opening ceremony of truly epic proportions, celebrating China in all its glory.

I just moved here a month ago from the US, and instead of watching the opening ceremony alone, I thought it might be nice to get a group of people together, get some beer, and make a night out of it.

Post and tell me if this interests you. This is kind of putting the cart before the horse, but if you have a spacious apartment and a large TV, and find yourself with a yearning to play host to this gathering, that would be awesome.

Hey, I would be open to watching it in a bar or on a public television, but I really do want to watch it-- I don't want to just kind of "have it on in the background.' I can't think of an appropriate place off the top of my head, but do tell me if you have any ideas.

I searched for big screen TVs feeding olympics live and didn't find one

OK I guess the realistic thing to do is finalize on who has a large TV at home? We have a small one and I'm at Jurong east.

If no place were found till then, I might just head to a sport bar in Clark Quay, Robertson Quay, or Holland V to try our luck...

lets do that then...meet up at the Bungy Bar or something on Clark Quay at 730 or something. Is an 8pm start in Beijing same as 8pm in Spore?

I am a 21/m American, I have been following the thread...So you guys are going to meet at a bar to watch it tonight then? Could you explain where the bar is, I would like to join as well?

Also, how many people are going to show? It seems like there is a good little group.

Guess what? They're showing Olympic Opening Ceremony!!
