Anyone tried rib cartilage.. Are they the alternative to silicone and gortex/

benefits of it?

u need to call him, not email him, from last time feedback.. his nurse can sok some english and dr jung spk good english..

dr jung took abt 1 week + to reply back to my 1st email enquiry... so be patient, he shld be replying back to you soon.

FYI, he is not very detailed in his email reply... & he didnt include the cost of surgery... so I suspect the emails boucing back & forth will take quite awhile.

probably the best way is to email him your pics, what you want to do - wait for his reply & then call him from there (as he has seen your pics, he will know who you are & you can shoot all your leading queries from there).

Right now, I am also very confused abt which material to use for my nose-fix... Each material has its own pros & cons.

So far what I have understood (pls correct me if I am wrong as I wld like to know right from wrong too) -

rib - most expensive. this material is best if you wish to construct a higher bridge/revamp your nose shape. Because it is a natural cartilage, less likely for infection. BUT warping or reabsorption can happen - & this is based on surgeon's skill & your own body's reaction to the natural cartilage.

goretex - 30x more expensive than silicon cost (tts what i read before). can construct a high bridge but will shrink depending on your own body absorbtion. goretex creates a less defined bridge (looks wider, not as defined as silicon). problem with goretex is if revision of nose is needed, it might be tricky & require a highly-skilled doctor to remove the goretex.

silicon - cheapest but oldest material used for rhino. there are many different silicon cartilage shapes available to fit one's nose. can contruct a sharper, more defined bridge. Extrusion chances lessen if surgeon places the silicon appropriately. Silicon can shift around if not placed correctly. Infection occurs if body rejects it OR due to surgeon's skill.
