Just do a search in this forum. There are quite a few. For example:
http://www.orpheusdive.com or
http://www.dolphinscuba.com.sg.
Anyone starting will always have to take the basic course, which consists of classroom and pool work, and later the open water dives to no more than 60 feet (it will be more like 30 feet). I have my advanced course and then stopped there, but there are many more one can take.

Agreed that doing it in a group is more fun
However, I think a dive course group should have a limit, maybe 6 person max.
I'm planning to organize a group for "PADI Open Water" course which includes:
- 1/2 theory sessions during weekdays after working hours.
- 1 pool session in Singapore (can be done during weekday as well).
- 1 real diving trip, likely in Malaysia (Tioman is an excellent diving site).
Right now the group has 3 persons confirmed and 1 unconfirmed. I'll probably limit the group size to 6 persons. Hopefully we can start within this month in August.

you guys should hurry up if you are keen in taking diving. monsoon is coming, around oct/nov, not 100% sure. you can easily get a diving license over a weekend trip to aur/dayang. if its monsoon, you might need to fly somewhere to get the dive license, or wait till next year feb/mar for monsoon to be over.

Thanks for the tip, perplex_sheep!
As for the dive course, I just looked around a bit and apparently, you can do the theory class online (120 USD for PADI directly) and go to Tioman to finish the pool + 4 dives over there to complete the certificate.

usually Aur / Dayang is good until mid november, depending on the weather though... there are possibilties to do your class in Singapore during mosnoon season, including the diving in Singapore, but it is not really nice, not much to see etc.... so you should try to do it earlier. September / October is still good !
There's many dive shops in Singapore, if you google a bit and read some older posts on the forum, you'll find good help. For example, try simply scuba or deep blue scuba.
all of you enjoy your dives !!!!

I just started last year and really fell in love with it !!!

We have a group now and will try pulau Aur in September. I hope the weather is good.
I've been to Tioman and thought that it was a good dive site, but apparently pulau Aur might even be better!
