Hello all

Just moved to Singapore a month ago and 2 year old very active toddler needs playdates!

We have been to the local playgrounds and also gymboree at Tanglin but would like to catch up with some mummies for coffee coupled with playdates for son!

We live in the East Coast and have yet to join the East Coast playgroup at Singapore Swimming Club. Very wary of HFMD rearing its ugly head again..

SO plse drop me a line...anyone..:)

I thought it did a 3 year boy just died recently, and I only just managed to convince my wife it was safe to send the kid back to gymboree before the front page news of the death.

So its back to feeding the fish, and long walks along the beach again

Hi QRM,

Was wondering if you've felt confortable enough to send your kid to Gymboree yet?

I took mine to his class yesterday and just made sure i clean his hands with wipes after the class (altho this is not a sure prevention).

I am no expert but Gymboree is one of the better places I always see them wiping down the equipment, checking all the kids with a thermometer and parents must all wear socks etc.

Theres no point being so worried, at the end of the day you or your kid can catch it from the lift button or shopping trolley, 90% of the time HFMD has very mild symptoms, a few people who I have spoken to whose kids have caught it, did not even know they had HFDM, when they went to the doc for what they thought was a flu bug they found out. It occurs heres in Singapore every year,

The last time I went to Gymboree in tanglin mall the place was like a ghost town, we were the only one in the arts class. (which is great  , like a private lesson) and the level 6 class just two of us was there.

Will be back at playschool next week.

my girl is 1 and i have to put her into child care as raising a baby is soooo expensive..esp with soy milk powder..so i work.
anyway.. her day care had 7 cases of HFMD! pulled her out for 3 weeks! now the cases have gone, but still being very careful..

I also live in the east so i'm usually free once a week..but not always the same days..i live in pasir ris.
