Singapore Expats

Hello, as part of my relocation package, I'm getting biz class flight with my baby. No separate seat for him! Please can you advise which airline is best trained to deal with infants - heard some horror stories about BA chucking out a family from biz class with crying babies. Any truth in that?

I don't see how they can throw you out of a seat you have paid for - no matter what class it is in! Babies often cry on airplanes - that's just the way it is & most reasonable people are aware of this fact. If you do your best to keep the baby comfortable and well-fed he/she will likely be OK for the flight. We flew business class with 2 four month olds & everything was just fine - they did have their own seats though.

Yeah - the company won't pay for a child seat - bummer

Years ago, I travelled with my child on Singapore Airlines biz class from the US to Hong Kong which is a pretty long flight and they were simply great. My son who was barely a month and a half then did not have a separate seat but a bassinet was provided as I had requested for a bulk head seat which allows for the bassinet to be attached.

I did not pay any extra for the privilege so you should explore this option. Staff is also extremely helpful on the plane with heating up formula, etc. P.S. Babies do cry but what can one do but grin and bear it, so don't feel too badly if yours does. Hope this helps.
