AMERICAN CRAVING GOOD BURGER AND PIZZA ( surprise!!)

Re: Good burgers and pizza in Singapore

Hi, folks.

I'm looking for mainstream establishments and hidden gems on the burger and pizza fronts.

To that end, I have heard that Brewerkz is good and will hit it soon, but anyone have any other suggestions on good, non-fast food burger joints? ( I'm not a snob, it's just that I've done all the fast food burgers--some I like ). I'm particularly interested in places where burgers are < S$20.

Also, I like thin crust pizza. Ive been to Rocky's ( just OK ), and looked at Canadian Pizza ( scary). I heard Mama Luchia's ( sp?) was good, but now it's gone I'm told. True?

Let me know on both accounts, OK? Thanks!

Thomas

Disclaimer: Haven't eaten at too many pizza places here cause I think paying over $25 is ridiculous when I can get a pizza that is twice as big for $5 in the states but....

I ate at Marios in Robertsons Quay and it was quite good.

Burger Joint....Botak Jones. Gotta love Mr. Jones. You may call it fast food but I call it heaven.

Thanks, RULDS!

I'll give both places a try!

For burgers you could try Blooie's Roadhouse. We've only tried their burgers which are good. There are pizzas too. Its located at Science Park II (west of Singapore).

Hey Thomas, if you're looking for Mama Lucia it is still around and they do serve great food and the ambience is nice too. So, below is the link to their website in case you want to try the food. Enjoy!!!

Hey Redsox - welcome...

Not sure how much Aussies can help you out, but if you have the basics of cooking you can make a decent pizza base yourself, then add the toppings you want!

If you want a recipe, let me know and I'll flick one over to you...

Cheers, P

I was totally blown away by the burger at the Hard Rock Cafe--it recently won the Time Out Singapore best burger contest. My traveling sister-in-law dragged me ther, but I will totally go again for the food--total shocker. It would beat Botak's overpriced burger anyday.

As for pizza, we've degenerated to Pizza Hut, yes, really. They have a new Viva crust that's a good combo of thick and thin--more like medium. :) We get sick paying so much for pizzas too, but like most stuff in Singapore we just grin and complain!
