Government vs Private

one of my friends just graduated from uni and has a job offer from a govt agency in singapore. she was wondering on how work experience in government agencies is perceived by employers, especially MNC employers in SG.
Being relatively new to SG myself, I was wondering if people here could shed some light on this.
