MOVING PC s + LCD s in check in baggage

has anyone tried
moving LCDs + PC s - all in original packaging -
as chkd in bagage on airplanes ?
is there risk of damage ? how did my dell's get here?
i'm moving out for an indefinite period & these are my only valuables -
if this is ok ....the rest i may keep in low-cost storage & even if storing co goes bust, I don't care
