Mobile phones networks & contracts

I have an European dual-band GSM phone (Nokia 5210): will it work in Singapore? Do they have pay-as-you-go contracts there or everything has to be registered?
Also, what type of wall sockets should I expect to find?

you can use your mobile fone provided it is
unlock. you can get PAYG SIM Card only in singapore and will need your passport to register the SIM to you. mobile provider in singapore are...

singapore use the TYPE G power plug - BS 1363 (British 13 A/230-240 V 50 Hz earthed and fused).

Ok then: my phone is definitely unlocked.
I got used to the blasted British-type plug&socket while living in London and I still have adapters in some drawer.

That phone should work because it was sold here long time ago. The one with rubber exterior I suppose.

Some companies have collaborations with the three telecommication companies. You may wanna check with the telcos if your company has any corporate individual scheme with them. Price plans under corporate individual schemes are usually about 20% cheaper than normal listed rates. Some even come with free value added services.
