Singapore Expats

This is our first Halloween in Singapore and we are wondering if many people trick or treat with little ones. I checked the forum, but the only posting I saw on this topic was from 2005. We live in a new condo that doesn't seem that congenial for trick or treaters--what do people usually do? Are there parties somewhere? We are doing to Halloween Night Safari on the 24th, but we are looking for something to do on the 31st that would be suitable for a 5 year old. I'd love some advice from you old-timers...

There is trick or treating. I always organized it in whatever neighborhood we were living in. If you don't want to do that, or you don't hear of anything happening in your building or area and you're willing to travel then what hapens in the Woodlands will knock you socks off

Hello, while we aren't new to Singapore (8 years here), we are "relatively" new to parenthood. Our daughter is 2 now and we'd love to bring her out for her first dose of Trick or Treat-ing, more to see the other kids all done up than for the candy aspect. What area of Woodlands does this typically happen in? In the houses nearby SAS? Sorry, I don't have a PM...

As a local, I'd say that it is uncommon for us to organize Halloween parties. However, if you do live in an expat community like Sixth Avenue (where I used to stay), it's safe to say that you'd find at least a single party there. Hope I've been of some help!
