well u can simply register for a domain name like www.chixchic.com with a hosting solution provider.

once you have a domain name u need to sign up a hosting package, it depends if u need just email hosting or with web hosting inclusive.

once you have your domain name and email hosting service, u can assign email address like [email protected] or any name you want.

Please do not solicit on the forum. You can get your account locked that way. We only allow passive advertising in your signature as you have done. A single line of text or a single hyperlink.

chix - we've used www.servage.net as they have a heap of hosting solutions and look after everything. They're also very cheap. HTH P

To do that, you will require a domain name and hosting if not you can use google apps for it. You can register a domain name with any domain registrar and request for assistance from them on setting up the domain with google apps.

I've also found what seems to be a good and inexpensive company in Singapore. PM me for details.

You can register your domain and host your site with GOOGLE for $10 per year. That i feel is very economical for a 99.99% uptime.

domain = DOMAIN.COM

You'll require a hosting plan to run a domain. To register a domain there are many sites out there to do it, enom, godaddy, eurodns most require Credit card to process. However you'll have to check whether the domain is taken up or not. www.internic.com (whois to check)

In singapore to register a .COM.SG you'll need to produce certain documents (if i'm not wrong).

1. register a domain, for example your-domain.com.
2. purchase some web hosting. with hosting, you will get email address using your domain name and also web space to host a website if you need it. emails are accessible worldwide using webmail.

1. and 2. can be of different company or location. you will only use 1. and 2. seperately to get the best price/value. some will do a complete solution (domain and hosting) but i find it is usually more expensive but easier to manage with only one company to deal with.

some will give you 1 free email and limited alias with a domain purchase. so if you only need 1 email, that might be an option. www.1and1.com does it.

it is a bit of a minefield out there for domain and hosting, so make sure you know what you are getting. a .com.sg will need more paperwork to register.

It's interesting to see how someone posts a quesion and a whole bunch of replies flow in. But not a peep from the person who raised the question in the first place? I think that's rude. Any comments?
