Singapore Expats

Has anyone been here?

M husband will be working there shortly for a week or 2 and I plan to go out to him for a couple of days. I will have to fly to Jakarta and then travel by taxi/train/whatever to Bandung. Is it safe to do this on my own?

I don't know what to expect and I have heard a lot of conflicting reports.

Any insights would be appreciated!

bandung is a nice city, not as crowded as jakarta as well.

if you're not use to the driving in indonesia, i think its better to take a train. there's few classes of train - just go for the executive.

trust me the traffic can be very frustrating - and this comes from an indonesian

as for the people there, one thing for sure be nice. you might hear a lot of conflicting news but as long as you're nice to the locals, i'm sure you'll do fine - they're helful

i went there once in 2006,hmm.dont really like it.
and also not a fan of jakarta.but bali's real nice.

Bali is heaven! The Balinese people are really friendly.

Bandung is one of the art centers for Indo, ask your driver for more information.
Bandung is nothing like Bali, in my opinion, but still has a lot to offer if you dig a little.
The traffic is terrible, nearly as bad as Jakarta.
