dear mummies and daddies

just wanted to see if anyone has ever used baby hammocks and what your experience was. they look rather practical and i understand why some people would use it (more natural position for the baby, babies not used to sleeping on the flat surface etc etc) however my concern is the back/neck and that it is all developing properly.
How many months can baby sleep in hammock?

Thanks for all your pro and con comments!!!

Hi Lainy

I used it from first week until my baby was about 3months old. It is a great way to settle babies.

Though i must admit, i didn't like the back support, it was too curved for me so i added some padding to raise it abit.

It is expensive for only a few months, so i rented one.

Hope this helps.

dear aimee
thank you for the reply! it was exactly my concern-the lack of back support and that one could only use it for the short period of time...
i will have to look into it more carefully..
would you recommend people to use it?

hi lainy,
i grew up sleeping in a hammock, as did most of my family. some of us till we hit 10-15kg. we grew up fine. i did not put my baby in a hammock though, cos i was afraid she might grow accustom to the rocking and swaying and refuse the mattress later on (although my mom and grandma did their best to assure me it wasn't a problem). it's your call really. hope this helps.
