KL - by train or by coach??

So I've got a little trip to KL planned in a few weeks, and I'm having a little 'discussion' with my girlfriend about how best to get there. We haven't been before - I say by train as is cheap and it looks real comfy in first class. She says coach, which is still cheap, but I have some niggling doubts (which I can't quite put my finger on...) about travelling by coach.
Anyone have any useful advice? Flying's not really an option, btw. Ta!

I'd go by coach, I've never been on it personally but I've heard it's pretty good. There are companies to choose from as well, so they're pretty competitive about service and all that.
I do take the train to Malaysia but not as far as KL. The railway company really has little incentive to provide excellent service. It'll get you to KL all right but chances are there'll be delays. However it is also quite an experience if you want to meander through the jungle and remote oil palm estates, and of course there's more leg room and you can wander about.

Don't ever take the night train, it's an 11 hour journey.
By coach is only about 5 hours plus. Try to get First Coach, they depart from Novena Square and arrive in Bandar Utama or Bangsar.
Both are much safer than Pudu KL.

I haven't tried the train.. but the busses are comfy and spacious. just get the VIP class or snoozer class which has an on board intertainment w/ individual LCD monitor. It's a 5.5 - 6 hour trip..
try searching at yahoo.sg

I tried First Class by Transtar, it was a good experience. beside the couple washroom break and the custom, they go non-stop to KL. they also serve you a small meal and drink onbroad.

I usually go by coach. There are more choice in terms of timing and the seats are quite spacious and comfy. Mostly 24 seaters. Journey takes about 5 to 6 hours. Do check with the travel agents on where to alight in KL cos different agencies may have different drop-off points.
Have fun!!
Just fly

Just take one of the cheap daily flights, if you have some weeks in advance, you might get it cheaper then bus and its much more convenient, just look e.g. Air Asia...

KL airport is about 45 minutes away from city. Try aeroline coach
https://www.aeroline.com.sg , 5 hours journey with a 15/20 minutes stop in between.

KLIA is 30 minutes away from KL Sentral by express train, from where you can connect to the LRT to Petronas in <10 min. However, if you fly on the cheapies (except JetStar), you'll land at the LCC Terminal, which has no train access -- you need to take an hourlong bus ride to the city instead.

i always go by coach, super comfortable, cheap, and efficient...the seats are usually comparable to the airplanes business class and you even get served meals.
