Do any one know what is this job about..... Sats as Trainee officer

hopefully some one already in this line give some advise about this job

I do.. im one of them and going solo. if ur thinking of applying that position i recommend u join customer service agent and after 2yrs apply for officer. being a trainee officer is stressful. i thinkin of quiting soon. but if u think u can cope with anything then go ahead. cause being one u need to think, act fast. one slight mistake u be in trouble. it depends...

Then how did you become one when you only applied less than a year ago, not to mention your pathetic English!

You can apply to become a trainee officer directly if you have a diploma and abv, but I think Ailina meant that its better to join as a CS agent 1st, to get a better feel of the job first, coz trainee officers have more responsibilites

i already got the job but when i go through the net i saw this job is stressful.
can u elaborate more.

however if the pay is good then i still thnik it is ok.

I went to the website and didn;t found any opening on SATS trainee officer post or link , may I know where did you see it ?

Hi. Just wondering if there is anyone that has been working quite sometime as a trainee officer (apron). What is the working shifts like and what is the job scope? How long is the training? Please enlighten me about this. Thanks.

ya i would like to know too... from what i read on "the newpaper" , they mentioned something about freight handling? can anyone shed some light about the job scope and how is the pay like?

and if i am not mistaken, i read that there is a bond and so why is there a bond??

I think I should follow up on this thread so as many people will not get the wrong idea on this job.

SATS gives wonderful and detailed training. People are stressed when they have to pass exams, that is what is being drilled in schools especially the passing marks in these SATS exams are 75% or 90% depending on subjects.

Hey no worries the trainers are so knowledgeable and helpful. They are not your typical primary or secondary school strict teachers. They are like the BEST teacher you have in schools and all of them are like that, perhaps even better!!

Then you will be send for on the job training with the best mentor they have. Always bear in mind, you are a trainee, listen and do as your mentor says and you will never go wrong. Admit your mistakes, you are expected to make mistakes. Hey you are even given a "P-plate" a small badge "I am New". No one will mind even a passenger, if you stumble or delay them. In fact they find it quite cute.

Shifts are irregular you wont get your standard 8 hour shifts in factories or other places. However the planner who planned your roster shifts are the most thoughtful people whom have worked these shifts before. The schedules are on odd hours e.g. 530 shifts, 630 shifts, 1700 hrs shift, 1100 hrs shifts. You still can enjoy your life and have lots of rest and sleep. OK some sacrifice must be made like weekends or holidays. However if you are working shifts before you will understand. Remember, work on holidays, you get double pay, of course you get shift allowance and many more allowance. You will be surprised!!!

Transport is not a problem. They pick you up at your doorstep. You can take taxi if you have to work on very odd shifts.

I was apprehensive about this job at first. Reading the negative comments. After the training I am confident that anyone whom wants to work and follow rules can work here.

You have to look your best. This actually gives you the confidence to meet people. There are rules you should follow about your dressing. It is just a package they are promoting as a service.

For short, if you like to smile and meet people this is a job for you.
Like in this line the saying goes " You may like to meet people but people may not like to meet you". Personally I have made frowns into smiles by a simple gesture of greeting and smiling sincerely. Everyone have a bad day. However if you can do your bit by giving back something pleasant their day will not be so bad after all.

As a trainee officer you will get to work as a customer service agent and still get paid as an officer how wonderful is that!!!!

I am writing this on my off day. It is a Saturday. Sunday I am also on Rest day. So it is not so bad after all.
