I'm really keen to learn windsurfing lessons in Singapore.... Any idea where i can start? Anyone keen to join me? Some company wld be great plus we may be able to save abit!

Hello Alice22, I just found out there's a windsurfing lesson next Sat at East Coast which I 'm going to sign up. It's 10am to 5pm, with 30min theory intro, swimming (to test our water confidence), simulator trial, and finally the real thing out in the waters.... It's $60 (if u want sign up 3 yrs membership for $40) or $85 for non-members.

Let me know if you are still keen coz I am probably heading down to make payment this week. Btw, the class size wont be more than 5, according to the staff.

Good day everybody

North-East monsoon has just ended recently and we are now experiencing a changing wind direction in Singapore. Generally wind is now light and coming from South-West. Good for beginners looking to start windsurfing

Wait...so it is $85 for non-members of what organization?

Generally light wind days for the next 2 weeks ahead.
Showers and thunder expected in late afternoon.

For beginners looking to do the basic course, mornings are the safest bet

Water Venture offers 6 hours beginner courses every Saturday and Sunday. A price list can be found here.

As I'm a beginner as well it would be nice to have some company. I'm normally out windsurfing on Saturday or Sunday around ~1pm. So just drop me a line.

Hey there, are there any beginner courses during the week? Thinking of heading down to East Coast now, but not sure if jet lag will get the better of me later on!

Actually, have looked at previous post and possibly found some suitable options. Failing that, there's always next weekend - lets just hope there's wind about!

I'm also interested in learning how to windsurf. I was wondering how you guys were getting on with it. I was told that it was the wrong time of year by a local friend. Being new to Singapore and windsurfing I have clearly no idea! Is there enough wind for some good windsurfing at the moment, is there a season for it? Has anyone had a go at kitesurfing here??

Hi, I went on the one day windsurfing 'training' a few weeks ago - we had decent wind on the day, but when I went back to practice later in the week, there was no wind, so it was a wasted session! I don't know enough about the sport to know when it is a 'good season' to windsurf - quite varied in Singapore I imagine! Could see some people just hanging around, waiting for the right conditions.

Definitely have a go and get lots of practice!!!

I just did the windsurfing class offered by PA Water Venture at East Coast a few weeks back. Quite a good one to do for beginners! Unfortunately, the weather was not quite cooperative - rainy and no wind! But it's still a blast learning! Will be going back so if anybody's interested, let me know!
