Hi Everyone,
Just wanted to say Hi and to introduce myself.
I will be arriving in Singapore at the end of January and while I am freaked-out, I'm also looking forward to experience a new country and a new culture. Coming from Toronto, Canada, where we've already had -22 C and plenty of snow this winter, I can't wait to lounge on a beach and soak up some sun!
I have many questions, and will ask them here eventually, but first, I wanted to thank you for being! I've learned so much from this forum already.
Enjoy your day!

Can we assume you will be attempting our triathlon? Judging from your nick anyway.....
Welcome to Singapore. You'll like it here (or you'll hate it) Doesn't seem to be any happy medium!

Thanks for the warm welcome!
Yes, I will do the triathlon and marathon and the Ironman in Australia and everything in between

That is, if I will be able to train for all these!
And here comes my first question: do you guys see people running and biking over there? The swim training should be easy, if I find a
condo with an olympic-size pool. But I've read it's not safe to bike on the roads, so I'm wondering how other triathletes/cyclists manage to train for their races.
Thanks,
SBR.

serious running and biking is very popular over here - i have several friends who run marathons all over asia and train all year round here. the climate is challenging - but there are several routes to run. i also see serious riders out all the time in all their gear -sometimes riding in packs. my next door neighbor is a serious rider - again biking all over asia and bikes with a group. she also does these mountain bike "hashes" for fun (she's single) so it's a great way to meet people and ride.
http://www.twa.com.sg/sbh/index.html they also have hashes for runners.
