Singapore Expats

Right now, I'm in the States. But I've lived in the U.K. and Japan. And now I'm thinking about moving to Singapore.

My background is a mix of media, ESL education and theater. I taught English In Japan. But I decided that straight classroom teaching is not for me. I want to work on a larger platform (ideally using all of my skills).

I talk to other expats who are actors/models/directors, etc. and based in various places (Singapore being one). It's the usual thing of keep your day job until the breaks start coming in. Until I get my acting break, what are the chances of getting a writer/presenter's job? Having a solid intl. work history has to count with Immigration.

Hi, I think you can try prominent theatre companies in Singapore. Such as Toy Factory or the Necessary Stage. You can also look for Media companies like Fly Entertainment. Good luck!

Out of curiosity and because of some acting background and my passion of everything related in general i once did the same, trying to find theater engagements or breaking into the media world...

I found it quite difficult for a Caucasian guy, even if you check the regular boards for "extra" positions or roles, it rarely happens to fit my person...
