1. Get a domain name from godaddy $10 a year
2. order hosting from hostgator $5 a month
3. install wordpress (free)
4. get a wordpress template (cheap)
A good template is better than a lot of designers I've seen.

2years ago i got a company to do a website, design hosting, domin, and shopping cart, cost about $2500 SGD.
is it expensive ?

Hi I got my website done by
www.kodehost.com. My site has a forum, blog, shopping cart and Boutique and cost less than $2,500. Originally I tried 2 other companies the first gave me a ridiculous quote the 2nd charged me $7,000 but I gave up with them as their work was very amateur.

If you do not need for a professional site. U may wanna consider a blogspot.com domain or look for a freelancer. It's cheap. A professional web designer may cost you a bomb.
