Coming to singapore this week!!!

Hi guys I am coming to singapore this week to get my health checked out and for a little vacation also. But I was wondering is that is this week a good week? I heard that the national holidayt of singapore is coming up and that most people are usually busy during those times but i don't think everything grinds to a halt though. Thanks!

actually it does.
Chinese new year is widely celebrated and one of the festive holidays that the entire island shuts down because they don't take off for new year and xmas etc.
As most of the businesses are run by Chinese, you'd see the entire island become a ghost town for 2-3 days as most shops will close and everyone will be home for family visiting and catching up.
