Can anyone recommend a shop experienced in Mercedes repair? It's an '83, needs several things done to it, current repair shop seems to think that since it is owned by ang mo, it ought to be restored to perfection with attendant extremely large bill.

you can try zenith workshop at alexandra village, they are quite professional but being an 83... you should lower your expectations

Balljoints, amongst other things. Done for now, but will still seek alternates.
Cheers.

The guy at the Mobil station at Tanglin Rd is pretty good with the old Mercs and will let you know what you can get away with vs restoring it to perfection.
