Hi everyone,

I drank Soya milk in UK because I LIKED the taste - or rather only one brand, So Good Soya, because it was just right, not too sweet, and didn't really taste like soya. Has anyone found a similar tasting brand here? I have tried reduced sugar ones, but they are horribly sweet. The unsweetened ones seem much better, but the ones I have tried taste too much like soya for me (am sure I can get used to it). I just find so many brands and would love a few recommendations to minimise the number to try for myself. Thanks!

it's true you know, they are so sweeeeeeeeeeet! one thing i do miss is cravendale milk.

Soya bean shops like Mr. Bean can adjust the amount of sugar to your taste, even 100% sugarfree (which tastes terrible...). Obviously this will cost more than the bottled kind though.

Back when I was teaching, my students boiled the soyabeans to speed up step 2 and 3. Otherwise the soaking is an overnight process. They liked it sweet so added sugar at the boiling stage to taste rather than salt.

I drink soy milk and have tried a few brands in Singapore. I used to drink Bonsoy back at home and found it Singapore, and still think its one of the best soy milks you can get. Its organic and in a yellow and purple carton and you can find it at Cold Storage, organic shops or the supermarket in the basement of Tanglin and Paragon (The Market?).

Another soy milk I purchase if I can't find Bonsoy is Silk (red carton).

I didn't like anything else I tried.

i can only find Pure Harvest..everywhere!why dont they import other brands...

Yes I am an Aussie. I did buy Bonsoy at Paragon when I first moved to Singapore but its no longer my local supermarket and do not know if they still stock it. It was in their organic section.

I usually shop at Tanglin now and its definitely there in the soy milk section.

you can try vitasoy. it's not too sweet and it didn't really taste like soy milk to me when i first tried it. kinda diluted, so it's not too rich.

I had tried 2 types: Unisoy (organic which avail in most supermkt) and Soy Spring, this China brand (i stumbled onto this brand shopping in Chinatown, and give it a try). Unsweeten and said to be nutritious. I got hooked onto this soy bean drink now. Give it a try.

soyfresh is good...and is cheap!

all the fresh soy milks I've tried in Singapore have this weird chemical
after-tastes. Like the ones sold at Mr. Bean and Polar.

More and more freshly brewed soya milk is available in Singapore but one must be aware. I think many still dont know what is good soya milk or bean curd. It is not weather soya milk is concentrated or diluted. One should try soya milk without sugar and see if you have unpleasant taste. In every 100g of soya bean there is about 8g of sugar you can check at http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Soybean. So a cup of good soya without sugar or syrup should taste slight sweet and rich in soya flavour when all toxic has been detoxicated.

Start to taste all freshly made soya without sugar and you will know which store has the better soya milk
