It can be used for curbing hunger because it is filling, 0 calories and you can use alternative sweetener like Splenda/xylitol to ease your sweet tooth.
It is available at major supermarket.

I use agar agar for a chocolate dessert recipe. It contains stevia and sucralose which are calorie free sweeteners and I buy a chocolate colour and flavor product directly from the supplier. Its almost completely calorie free and delicious

I am really sorry but I can't share the secret. I actually want to put a patent on my recipe invention. I would like to have it sold in supermarkets in the near future as the first ever 'calorie free dessert'.

invogue, that's okay if you don't want to share, you have already given me enough to give to a friend of mine who is somewhat something of a genius of food technology and will be able to take that which you have given us and probably experiment to come up with the same thing. I don't think I've ever seen a patent for food stuff though. Patent/registered trademarks but not a food product. otherwise there would only be one of everything in the supermarket! Recipes are not inventions.
And you can delete your post if you desire. That's why I quoted your post. Even if you delete the contents it will still be in mine. This way everybody can now work with it and will probably post something here to let us know how it all turns out. Sometimes, if you want to help out in these forums, in your case, it would be best to just not write anything.

As the poster is only gonna be in Singapore for 3 months and is then going to China, I wonder if the poster thinks that the Chinese there will respect OP's "Patent". Brings to mind the cardboard bun copy think last year. Who knows, maybe they will find another use for melamine with it!

Ingredients:
1 x 13g packet agar agar powder
200g Splenda(sucralose) - 0.4 calories/gram or xylitol - has calories but 1/3 of sugar.
600ml water
3 cups of strawberries/raspberries/blueberries ( or whatever FRESH fruit you fancy) - sliced or whole, up to you.
1 tsp lemon essence
Method:
1. Boil agar agar powder with sweeter, water.
2. Arrange the 3 cups of fruits in the agar agar mould.
3. Pour 1/2 of the agar agar solution into the fruit cocktail.
4. Add lemon essence and yellow colouring to the other half of agar agar solution. Stir well and pour on top of (3). Leave to set. Chill before serving.

Above is a modified version taken from the link, not really 0 calories but definitely healthier options, don't know how it taste..shall try it one day.
Splenda is alot sweeter than normal sugar, so you may wish to vary the amount to say 100 or 50g just so that you get the taste of the fruits.
- if you don't know how splenda taste like, buy coke zero and have a sip.
Also maybe you like to try chocolate flavoring etc..instead of lemon..
Disclaimer -
Each time you use this recipe please pay a thank you - $1 equivalent forum money via my PM for patent royalties.

LOL! That’s very funny.
I have an idea; when I arrive in Singapore in a few weeks, I will host a tea party and invite you over for some chocolate agar dessert. Will you come?
BTW Unfortunately stevioside is not currently permitted for use in foods in Singapore
Its such a good product though.
Be sure to RSVP for my tea party!

Coke Zero uses Aspartame and Splenda. At least according the to label on the 1.5L bottle setting by me on my desk.
Aspartame is that stuff that the USDA can't make up their mind about regarding the fact that is is supposed to be bad for you. (But obviously a lot less bad for you than sugar!)

In Japan coke actually already contains stevia instead of Aspartame. In the next year or so coca cola will launch a new stevia sweetened beverage with a very high grade of stevia purchased from Cargil called truvia.

i tried stevia though, has a funky after taste that i dislike.
so far the best replacement to sugar is xylitol.
I'm leaning more towards natural sweeteners compared to artificial ones.
But sucralose is a life saver.
I won't mind coming count me in, would love to taste it.
