Hello

at the moment we are living in a full furnished flat. And there's a washing machine too.
But the programs are very different to those I know from europe. There I had degrees to choose. And here I only have "fuzzy" "economy" "night" and "wool" . And the water level I can choose.

Please can someone help me an explain how to wash which things.

Is this a normal washing machine or a old one?

If the landlord didn't leave the washing machine manual for you. How about searching for the manual online? I am sure you can see what model the washing machine is.

We don't have a manual for the washing machine. And in the internet I didn't found anything.

Is such a kind of washing machine normal for Singapore? What kind of w.m. do you have, amiee40? One where you can choose degrees?

The washing machine at my place has the same options.

I have a weird top loading LG washing machine, very different to what I am use to back home.

The good things about top loading washing machines is that you can open the door when the washing machine is being used. So you can put your hand in it to test the temp of the water.

I have suspected that because I do not know the appropriate setting of the washing machine that my clothes are shrinking. But then it is equally possible that I am just getting fatter and fatter.

And which program do you normaly choose louy?

With fuzzy it was afterwards really fuzzy meaning with lots of little "things".
Economy is so short - I don't know if this really cleans for example underwear.
Night I didn't tryed yet.

You can't choose degrees because the washing machine doesn't include temperature options. There is no in-built water heater. The water is simply at room temperature.

I sometimes add some boiling water to increase the temperature.

Isnt the Fuzzy Logic control one that the machine tries to work out what it thinks is the best program of the clothes - maybe by taking into account the weight of the load when dry and wet, the density of the water flowing out, and number of dirty particles per a water unit in the drum, the speed of something.. i dunno, im kinda making it up.

Thanks louy! This sounds good! I translated the word "fuzzy". But now I searched with google, and the fuzzy function sounds very good. I will try it again.

Lots of washing machines here have built in heaters. My 20 year old front loader whirlpool did and the electrolux I have now also has one.
