Singapore Expats

Hi guys,

I am going to get SGD 3000. currently I am in India and will be moving to SG next month. I want to start looknig for a house. What you guys suggest? Which kind of house I should go for? My only requirment is it should have gym. I am ready to stay in shared flats etc. I heard of something called condo? What is it? Is it too expensive? If yes ..can I get shared accomodation ...somewhere near 1 Intearnational Business park ??

Firstly, I think you need to give people a budget to work with.

Anyways, the 'condo' commonly referred to in Singapore is basically a cluster of private apartments ( as opposed to apartment flats built by the govt - commonly referred to as 'HDB flats' ). These condos normally have amenities like a swimming pool, gym, etc.

If you want to be near the your office, the areas to look at are Jurong West, Clementi and West Coast.

HDB flats - $700 onwards
Private condominiums- $1,200 onwards

i have got a job in singapore as well but my EP has been rejected....and am wondering what the possible reasons.

The possible reason could be anyhting ....the worst thing is that those people don't tell you the reason ...i still donno the reason why my EP was rejected...i am on S pass now and it is OK to be on S pass ..It is almost like EP...diffrence is that you can not switch job easily ...you need to go back to your country if you quit the job or company kicks you out ....anyway ...don't be sad becasue your EP is rejected .... prepare for the S pass ....it is easy to get.
