Hey guys, is it possible for a singaporean to re enter singapore with a passport not valid for at least 6 more months? What are the likely implications?
Thanks for any help*

Theoretically you should not be allowed to even check in at the departure terminal. I do know that sometimes you can get away with it (from personal experience) but I wouldn't try it now. When I did it, it was pre 9/11 so it might be a little more sticky now (that's probably an understatement).

Why not renew it at your local Consulate, Embassy or High Comm? That way you'll definitely have nor problems with entering Singapore or leaving wherever you are now.

As a Singaporean coming back to Singapore from abroad (assuming you are writing this from abroad already) the validity period on your passport is of no importance.
A Singaporean in Singapore does not even need a passport so you can come back and theoretically let it expire.
IF you are overseas now then you must come back before your passport does expire, then you can apply a new one from here.

Yeah, I kinda blew that one. I completely mis-read the fact that he said he was a Singaporean returning to Singapore.

Ok you've got me. I'm enquiring for myself
Without the 6 months' limit.. I guess it's alright to return just before
the expiry date and not disrupt the customs traffic flow*
You guys are way too kind..thanks again! I'll be back for more

you cannot re enter to singapore, event you are Singaporean, because you will out from another country, that mean you must to extend your passport there first. ... and then well come to SG
