Areas to live in singapore

Hi there,
I'm moving to Singapore pretty soon and I'm trying to suss out where to live. I'm in my mid twenties so somewhere with a youngish vibe about the place wouldn't go amiss. Any ideas would be much appreciated.

You can stay around East coast.
It has got a beach/park and about 30-40 mins to City by public transport.
The place is cozy and most of the expats live around this area.
BTW Singapore is a little red dot and there is not suburb or city differentiation, everywhere is the same.

try Joo Chiat. It's an old shophouse area on the East Coast, near the beach too. Some areas are considered the red light area...so there's the cool factor!

You can consider the areas around Holland (slightly more expensive)

Bit strong and incorrect to say most expats live around East Coast. A lot more are moving out to the East Coast and there are many "seasoned" expat living here. It's a great mixture of locals and expats, young and old.

I would suggest you narrow down to these areas. (A mixture of expats and some locals...
)
1)East Coast
2)Holland Area or Holland village
3)Novena Area (last Option)

The following are nice places to live or stay with good environment:
- upper thomson
- bukit timah
- east coast
- marine parade
- novena
- river valley
- tiong bahru

Hi all...I just came across this thread as I am moving to Singapore in June and is wondering where to live. I haven't been to Singappre before. Those areas listed, do you all know the average price for a 2 bed
condo? and is it ok to commute if i have no car?

Have you bothered to use the search function of this site? or for that matter the hosts main page? This is, after all, a real estate portal. You can get a pretty good idea from there.........

If you don't intend to get a car (which can cost a lot in Singapore), you definitely need to get a place near the SMRT (subway trains). The MRT reaches everywhere you need to be. Getting a placing that is walking distance away from a station will definitely make your life easier.

No you don't have to live near a MRT station, what about buses
