Singapore Expats

Hi,

I'm moving to Singapore in 4 weeks time from Sydney and am 17 weeks pregnant with my second child. Can anyone recommend a good Obstetrician/Gynaecologist near the CBD?

I'm from the UK and was 12 weeks pregnant when I arrived in Singapore. I went to see Dr Sim Lee Ngor at LN Sim Clinic for Women, based at Thomson Medical Centre.

Although not in the CBD, it's only about 10 minutes in a taxi. Dr Sim is really pleasant and I felt very comfortable with her. Her prices are quite reasonable too.

hi, i can recommend dr paul tseng at thomson medical. had my 2nd child with him. he was hands down alot better and more involved than the OB who delivered my first child in sydney! he only delivers at thomson and mount alvernia i think. good luck!

I recommend Dr Lee Chee Wan from LEE CLINIC FOR WOMEN & SURGERY PTE LTD. His last address was at 95 South Bridge Road
#06-05 S(058717). Not sure if he has moved, but you can call his clinic at 6532-7948. He delivered my daughter few years back. He's very caring, sensitive and professional in every aspect.

We are also from Sydney and been here 3 years and my wife has had 3 children all delivered by Dr Suresh Nair in that time. He is at Mt Elizabeth Hospital right behind the Paragon shopping centre. I can honestly say that he is the nicest mannered Dr we have ever met and although you sometimes have to put up with him being a bit late with his appointments you can always be sure he will be there when needed. Our first was delivered at 3:30am and he was right there on time.

I second Paul Tsen at Thompsong. I moved here with 8 weeks to go and he was wonderful and way better than my experience in Australia. Highly recommend him.

One thing about Paul Tseng though is that he's a very busy doctor and allot of the expats go to him.

I do have 3 friends who used him and found that their appointments were always a bit rushed. When they went for their pre-natal appointments he did the necessary checks but they felt there was not enough time for questions.

At the end of the day its who you feel most comfortable with and here you can change your doctor whenever you want if you are not happy.

Really? alot of the expats go to paul tseng? he was my OB and perhaps twice i saw expats in the waiting room with me, and with all the additional test and visits I had done, I was in there alot! i think it's all relative, there were plenty of singaporeans keeping him busy!

i had about 3 occasions where i had to wait close to an hour because he was downstairs delivering. i didn't mind, as I knew my time would come. and surely it did when he rushed down to deliver for me amid other's appointments!

I'm only expressing the opinions of 3 of my friends who all sail the same thing about him. Sounds like you got a better service from him.

In my pre-natal yoga group, made up mainly on ex-pats, there were quite a few people in the room who were seeing him too. I'm not saying he doesn't have a Singaporean client base too but whenever I see threads about ex-pats looking for a doctor, Paul's name always gets mentioned which is obviously a good thing if he's a good doctor, but just a busy one.
