Hello,

Snap! I am also moving from Dubai to Singapore this coming Aug.

The Salary I am taking in Singapore is a lot less then I am making in Dubai but its still around about enough to live on. Some web site says you need about 35k (UK) per year to live on in Singapore, not sure how true that is.

I think it will all depend on the sort of deal your getting for going to Singapore. If your getting housing like they do in Dubai and such like.

I still dont have a clue where I am going to live as renting a room for about 600 pounds per month isn't my idea of fun. Oh and loads of places saying that you can't cook!!!

If you use the search on this site loads of people have asked all the questions you probably have and there will be nice full answers.

Good luck and once I am there it would be nice to know someone if you fancy a drink, oh thats meant to be nice and expensive too.

thanks

it really depends on what kind of lifestyle u wanna live....
some ppl in SG can get by earning 2k per mth.... some earning 5k thinks its not enough.....
It really depends on wat you want....

If you don't fancy owning a car, singapore is a very affordable place to live in. And its not true that many places do not allow you to cook. Public transport here is excellent and cheap too. But of cos, it all depends on your lifestyle. :)

Renting fee is quite expensive here in Singapore. >$2.5K to rent a 2-3 bedroom condominium, if you are renting a condo near to downtown areas, can be >$4k. To rent a 3 bedroom HDB, it can be >$2k, and >$2.5k at the downtown areas.

I think the rent are coming down quickly in the recent weeks/months. By August, it should be even lower, in fact! You can see UE Square and Icon going for $2.5K for a studio, so maybe in a few more months, you will be able to see 2 bedroom going for that price!

Keep your finger crossed!!!
