direct/street marketing + market surveys

hello,
I didn't see any info on Spring or any govt website with regards to that:
Is it required to have any sort of authorization to conduct market surveys in the streets of Singapore ?
Same for "Street Marketing" (flyers / magazine distribution for instance)
what about malls? (I doubt "street marketing" will be allowed but what about Market Surveys)
