In general, with regard to the selection of a suitable language school, it may be useful to consider the following:

Student
• Where are you at this point?
• What do you hope to achieve?
• Is the school capable of helping you achieve your goals?

School
• Are the teachers trained and qualified to teach the Spanish language?
• Are they native Spanish speakers?
• Is the school itself specialized in this language? How many teachers do they have in their Spanish department?
• What materials and teaching methods do they use?
• How many hours of lectures, tutorials and conversation practice sessions are there?
• What is the student:staff ratio in each class?

Depending on which factors are of significance to you, you may like to give different weightage to each factor and hence come up with selection criteria that are suited to your needs.

I heard from my friend she get to learn it from an online package.She told me she had purchase more than 3 courses from the net,but she told me 1 of it is very good.
I was surprise when hear she speaking fluent spanish with 1 of the traveller that we meet that day. Awesome man...

I am also interested. Have been in Latin America for the last month and am in love with the place. I want to learn Spanish when I come back to Singapore. Would prefer Mexican Spanish, if possible. Keep me updated too! Thanks!

Hi all, I've done my beginner's course in Spanish at the In Lingua institute at Orchard. The teachers are native speakers, and the course material is quite good. Planning to take up the mid-level course soon. You guys should check it out!

I dunno if this thread is still on, but I am looking at obtaining some form of certification in spanish before I get to college but am clueless as to which of the abovementioned schools offer what.

Would anyone point me in the right direction as to which offers the certification I want? I did 2 years of Spanish ab initio during my IB years a year ago.

i think your best bet is prob las lilas.
it is the only school that specialises only in Spanish.

Las Lilas offer a better rate if they have a batch enrollees. I wanted to enhance my Spanish. howmuch are they quoting now?

Thanks for the recommendations, but what are the rates like? And also, they offer the DELE at the end of the course right? Is that the equivalent of TOEFL? I am looking more of a diploma equivalent, and not just a certification of completion similar to that of TOEFL or SATs.

Can someone care to verify?
