Importing your own wine for your own consumption

I'm seriously looking at importing some wine from the UK for my private consumption. I work in the industry and totally believe that not only Singapore has no choice but more importantly is overpriced 
. I found quite a few suppliers in the UK that are willing to ship bottles over.
What is the process, what is the tax system, where do you collect the bottles, do you need a permit...?
