OBGYN & Ped. recommendations (need a slow speaker)

I'm looking for an OBGYN who (in order of importance):

1) speaks fairly slowly -- some S'poreans talk a mile a minute and I can't understand a word!
2) is very thorough & not rushed -- I'm the sort that likes a little "mothering"/"hand-holding"
3) is preferrably female
4) is not too pricey

Any recommendations helpful! I've found the blog about Singapore OBGYNs to be most helpful, but it's no surprise that it doesn't say much about a doctor's speech. I know slow speech is a rather unusual requirement.

I'm also looking for a different pediatrician (same as above, but either gender). We currently see Dr. Ang Poon Liat at Thomson. In general we like him -- he is very professional and knowledgable -- but I feel so rushed, the wait is long, and I can't understand what he says b/c he talks so fast! I hate asking people to repeat themselves multiple times. (Also, I suppose a female Ped. would be nice. I wanted to BF, but my baby always bit me, so I pumped for nearly 8 months, and I got a guilt trip from Dr. Ang for even thinking of switching to formula. It would be nice to have someone who can identify with the issues of motherhood!)

I suppose I would need to find an OBGYN and Ped. who both work from the same hospital. Do Ped's visit hospitals other than their own to check on newborns?

Thanks!

my daughter is seeing Dr Irene Chan at IKIDS. her website http://www.ikids.com.sg/

She's very motherly has 4 kids of her own.

not sure whether you'll find her speak fast, as she's ok for me. She's very experienced and fair in her judgement.

Btw, she's the medical consultant for Motherhood's magazine. You'll see her column at the child's health section if i'm not wrong.

GOOD LUCK!

I had a fabulous Dr at A company for Women, Dr Shirin Jacob. She is absolutely wonderful and just love her. She is a little on the pricey side but you get what you pay for - I will never change!
I changed Paed's as I felt rushed and not looked after, I now go to Elizabeth Kids Clinic at the Paragon with Dr Elizabeth Kohr she is wonderful too

I am 35 weeks pregnant and recently changed my OB-Gyn to Dr. Geraldine Tan at TMC. It is too last minute to change your doc, but I want to deliver at TMC and my Gyn did not. Anyway, I found her to be very nice, patient and understanding. She does not necessarily speak slowly, but I found it easier to understand her than the two I had before. She gave us a lot of time (about 20 minutes!) also because I was a new patient and very far along in my pregnancy.

But her clinic is in the East..
