Read something but info a bit vague "in the coming two years" they say in the link below. Anyone with info on free wireless internet in Singapore?
Where/best locations?
How to register?

As per my info if you have sim card from any Singapore telecom you can use Wireless@SG for free.
But dont no where they have free hot-spots for "Wiress@SG".

I am using StarHub as of now. It's cheap. I bought prepaid sim card for 15 SG$ at airport and has 18 Sg$ balance + they throws 10 free local SMS everyday. You can try EDGE/GPRS on StarHub. Quit fast. I tried running YouTube video's on my windows mobile using StarHub card & EDGE and it plays really fast. My cell doesnt have 3G feature by the way but still fast enough.

you are giving a bit of wrong info here. wireless@sg is a wi-fi using IEEE 802.11a/b/g/n wireless standard. EDGE/GPRS is using GSM 2G radio network. using EDGE/GPRS on a prepaid SIM will not be free but will be taken out of your credit as part of the data packets used.

1 can use that GPRS/EDGE option only if it's too urgent and can't wait for free wi-fi spot [ Assuming need of having internet in hand ]

They are very reliable yet a bit pricey. Downlink is okay usually at up to 512kbps but the good thing is that it is symmetric so your uplink is 512 as well. I wouldn't recommend them for online gaming though as the ping is not that great (could only be reduced by increasing the signal strength. Upping the signal strength would fry the satellites though, a problem the US Armed Forces had to live with during desert storm)

ok, to further finetune the info on wireless@sg, anyone (tourist, illegal immigrant, boat people, etc) can access the wifi service.
