I think you might be better off on one of the sg linux forums

www.lugs.org.sg/

or even

http://www.facebook.com/group.php?gid=6637106723

I'm using Ubuntu , both a "blind" LAMP server as well as a desktop. No such USB problems to date

Good luck

I am going to reinstall SuSe, but this time with GNOME to see if that helps.

maybe this is too late, but if you still have issues with that let me know; i may be able to help.

i assume you have your reasons for going for suse, but, for what is worth... i recommend you to use ubuntu, no fanboi here or anything, but after using the major linux distros, i reluctantly changed to ubuntu a few years ago for my laptop and... jeeezz... i love it.

May be too late reply but anyway will be useful for you and for readers.

You can order 1 free UBUNTU cd from UBUNTU's web site.
They send 1 CD of UBUNTU Linux on your postal address any where in the world at absolutely free of cost and no country customs charge duty on it as Canonical.,the shipping company declares that its a free item.

Order 1 and have fun. It's much more easy to use than OpenSuSe.
Even you can install UBUNTU 9/04 inside windows on NTFS drive.
Ya they using "Wubi" instaler.

Amey.
