Hii all I need to get some advise from Indian families here..I have been keeping Punjabi maids all the while and they always give problems. My Indian friends have been telling me to keep Indonesian's so I dont know if I should do that ..anyone keeping Indon maids can advise me how it is to keep an Indon?

You might be having a problem with Indonesian ones as well. Unless it's just a figure of speech or it ties in with an earlier posts, it would seem that you look at domestic helpers with the wrong attitude. I seem to remember another thread on here that you were involved in regarding treatment of domestic helpers. You don't "keep" them, you employ them. They are employees not objects to keep and do with as you see fit. Try treating them as human beings and you will probably have less issues.

Hii dont mind SMS, I just posted this on the forum because I need to get some advise from other Indians here on keeping a Indon maid. I dont wish you or someone else to teach me how to treat others like humans cos I believe in retribution.

Also, I dont have to state in the forum here how I treat my maids. If you feel from my earlier posts that I dont know how to keep my maids, then thats not my problem.

As far as I am concerned, I treat my maids well, however, due to some reason or another ,things dont work out. Try asking around and most Indians will tell you that Punjabi maids usually give their employers more headache.

My current maid is very nice ..but too bad ,her dad passed away yesterday and I had to get her on the next flight back home.

Now if some one else out there can give some good advise ,please do so. Thanks.

Sure, try hiring a nice, qualified person and not a stereotype based on nationality. Also? Hi is spelled with just one 'i'.

How do you equate them giving you problems with one having a father pass away? You consider a death in the family as giving you problems? Go read your original post and then read the last one where you are giving an excuse. Doesn't ring true. Anyway, good luck finding another servant.

If you are so free, spend your time correcting everyone's English.

For SMS : I dont think I typed out anywhere that my maid whose father passed away was giving me problems. please read carefully.
I did mention that she was nice ,but her dad passed away.So , I have no choice but to send her back.I never mentioned that she was giving me problems.


Try to assist people when they need some advise. You guys dont have to correct people's spelling or grammar here.

Many other times, on other threads ,when people need advise, they get bombarded with sarcastic remarks instead. I dont think thats a very nice thing to do.

people use the grammar correction more often than not to make you angry, and by your reaction, they succeeded.

calm down, it is not the end of the world and it is not even meaningful and just ignore it...

on the other hand, it is absolutely ok to double check on names spellings, because names could create confusion.

now to the core of your predicament, eh?

look chixchix, it is all about how do you portrait yourself, how do you state you advise request and more importantly what do you really want to say vs what other people read.

your current request is annoying to say the least cause among other things you:

1-talk about people over gross generalizations about their culture / nationality... whats a punjab maid? whats a indonesian maid? what is a swedish born nigerian educated currently living in phillipine maid? get it?

2-you talk about a job in terms of "keep", as if you dont know that generally speaking, people stays in a job if the conditions are good.


how do i "keep" my maid? well i dont... she is just too happy to stay and work...

now to give you a real advise, scientific studies have proved without any doubt that maids of the genus sumatrae domesticus are better kept tightly closed in a cool dry place.
